CIVCO’s Latest Prostate Saturation Biopsy Solution, the 3D Pathologic Mapping Kit

KALONA, Iowa, USA – CIVCO Medical Solutions announces the release of the 3D Pathologic Mapping Kit, a solution for Prostate Saturation Biopsy. Saturation Biopsy, a Medicare approved procedure, involves collecting 20+ biopsies transperineally using a template grid. This procedure is performed under general or regional anesthesia. It is ideal for patients with adverse PSA parameters; such as a rising or falling free PSA as well as adverse histology such as atypia, coupled with one or more negative sets of 12 core office biopsies. The transperineal approach resolves these issues by allowing a more comprehensive sampling of the entire prostate eliminating the difficulties of the standard office TRUS biopsy.
The CIVCO 3D Pathologic Mapping Kit organizes the prostate into 8 regions (octants) and further divides each octant into 3 zones. The midline biopsies are segregated resulting in a total of 26 sections. The Kit contains corresponding pathology mats and specimen jar labels to the sections described above assuring rapid and accurate specimen capture and transfer.
Along with the 3D Pathologic Mapping Kit, CIVCO’s AccuCARE product line has the necessary equipment to adopt Prostate Saturation Biopsy. CIVCO’s AccuCARE line has a wide variety of Workstation Positioners (floor based and table mounted) and Stabilizers which are compatible with many of the OEM’s Ultrasound Transducers, as well as a complete line of disposables including brachyballoons, system drapes, template grids, needle guides and transducer covers.
